Bonus Wagering Calculator

Casino welcome bonuses come with a wagering multiplier (typically 30× to 50×). Use this calculator to find out the total amount you have to bet before you can withdraw, how many sessions it takes at your usual stake, and your expected loss range based on the slot's published RTP.

Inputs

Cash value of the bonus, after match. Example: 100% match on a $100 deposit = $100 bonus.

From the bonus T&Cs. Industry standard is 30–50×. AnjouanReport flags anything above 45× as steep.

Some operators wager on bonus only (more generous), others on bonus + deposit combined (harder).

Most bonus T&Cs cap max bet during bonus play (commonly $5).

Bonus play often restricts table games. Read the T&Cs.

500/hr is comfortable manual play. 1,000/hr is fast auto-spin.

Expected loss to house edge

Statistical expected value over the full wager. Real sessions vary widely.

Realistic clear-through value

Bonus minus expected loss to wagering. If negative, the bonus is unlikely to pay out cash.

How we calculate. Total wager = multiplier × (bonus, or bonus + deposit depending on basis). Expected loss = total wager × (1 − RTP). Realistic clear-through = bonus − expected loss. This is statistical expected value; variance can swing real outcomes by ±50% over hundreds of spins.

How to read the result

Positive clear-through value

On paper the bonus is worth taking — statistical expected value is in your favour, even after wagering loss. Realistic only at low wagering (≤25×) and high-RTP slots (≥96.5%).

Negative clear-through value

On average the wagering eats the bonus. You'd need above-average variance to cash out anything. Common case for 40×+ wagering on standard 96% RTP slots.

Why "spins per hour" matters

Session pace decides how long the wager takes to clear before the bonus expires. If clear-through requires 12+ hours of fast play at the cap bet, you may not finish before the 7–14 day window closes.

Caveats this tool does not model

Max-bet rules during bonus, restricted game lists, game contribution weights (slots usually 100%, table games 5–10%), and bonus expiry. Always read the full T&Cs before opting in.
